ANZAC Day

On the 24th of April Phoenix Street Children’s Centre took time to remember and reflect on the soldiers who gave their lives to protect our country! The children participated in Australian traditions such as making ANZAC cookies and Damper, the children also heard children’s stories such as “Simpson and his Donkey” by Mark Greenwood and Illustrated by Fran Lessac.

Happy Easter!!

On Thursday the 5th of April Phoenix Street Children’s Centre celebrated Easter! The Children created their own Easter hats and paraded them for all their friends and educators to see. In the afternoon the children had a surprise visit from the Easter bunny who brought a special gift for each child.

St Patrick’s Day at Phoenix Street

Phoenix Street Children’s Centre celebrated St Patrick’s Day on Friday the 16th of March. The children wore green and participated in many activities including, green play dough, creating rainbows with pots of gold, pasting green leaves, decorating 4 leaf clovers and many other St Patrick’s Day traditions. It was also great to see parent getting involved in the celebrations by also wearing green. The children enjoyed a delicious lunch prepared by Sohailia which included cucumber, spinach and lettuce.The children and families enjoyed being a part of this celebration and being able to grow in their knowledge of the Irish customs and celebrations.
